Undulating B roads through Leicestershire villages. The distance is more like 40 miles according to my Garmin. Total ascent approximately 3000 feet. The biggest climb is just after Loddington - about 12% for about a quarter of a mile. The route is well signposted apart from 2 places. Firstly the left turn to Allexton, which is a small sign which takes you down a single track road with 4 cattle grids, all of which can be passed at the side. In addition there are 2 other cattle grids just before Carlton Curlew. In adiition there are no signs to Tilton on the Hill when you come into Belton in Rutland - go anti-clockwise round the village and the sign to Tilton will become apparent. There is an alternative way back by turning left at Houghton on the Hill if you want to avoid more of the A47. |

Really enjoyed this - thanks. Should we have gone anti-clockwise as we did it clockwise? Was hard and tough work getting 3 heavy mountain bikes around the 40 mile route.

Really enjoyed this ride today with a new friend from this site. Although he found it easier than me! I missed out the hill at Loddington but will try it next time i am out that way :)

Great route, if you fancy a challenging hill climb hang an early north-bound over Moor Hill (East Norton Rd - Moor Lane). Make sure to take care when on/crossing the A47.
