Cycle Steps
1. Undulating B roads through Leicestershire villages. The distance is more like 40 miles according to my Garmin. Total ascent approximately 3000 feet. The biggest climb is just after Loddington - about 12% for about a quarter of a mile. The route is well signposted apart from 2 places. Firstly the left turn to Allexton, which is a small sign which takes you down a single track road with 4 cattle grids, all of which can be passed at the side. In addition there are 2 other cattle grids just before Carlton Curlew. In adiition there are no signs to Tilton on the Hill when you come into Belton in Rutland - go anti-clockwise round the village and the sign to Tilton will become apparent. There is an alternative way back by turning left at Houghton on the Hill if you want to avoid more of the A47.
