This is a road route, mostly on quiet lanes around West Lancs, but with small sections of A and B roads. It is largely flat, with one slightly hilly section past Dalton Church and through Parbold.

Roads around Mawdesley were badly potholed with lots of speeding snobs in Chelsea Tractors. Scenery around there was very flat and featureless. Didn''t really enjoy it.

I would not use Crabtree Lane, rough with closed level crossing. Like most people I use Tarlscough Lane and Marsh Moss Lane.
