Formed in 1923 the Lancashire Road Club is a cycling club based in Bolton, Lancashire, England. We currently have around 100 active members taking part in all aspects of cycling - road racing, time trials, track racing mtb, cross and triathlons. Members also tour and cycle-camp around the world and organise cycling holidays for other members. In addition there are club rides throughout the year every Sunday & training rides through winter. Club rides are every Sunday all year round starting from the Royal Oak pub, these cover between 60 and 100 miles depending on the destination and always stop for a cafe around dinner time. The winter training rides start in December and continue through to the start of the racing season. Both club and training rides are social, the training rides are just a tiny bit quicker with fewer stops. Toward the start of the racing season (March) these rides get faster. The club organises time trials, track evenings at Manchester Velodrome and many social events. Lancashire Road Club is a club for anyone who enjoys riding a bike, for whatever reason. With such a large and varied membership there is always someone to ride with.
