Ermmm, in 4 and a half hours? Think this time estimate is a bit on the ambitious perhaps?

Great route - did it in the winter with extra miles at the north end to Haworth for overnight stop, hard route but full of contrasts - going for the 1 day plan this summer. Do it on a nice day to make the most of it.

I've done this ride 4 times and must say, don't underate it. I do a lot of cycling, but find this a serious challenge. Best time in 6 hours but an average good time for most is about 7 hours.

I agree with Phil, having done it several times
it's serious stuff and i need 7 hours and decent weather for it.

nowhere near my fittest so over 9 hours for me :O) absolutely loved it though. Going to get properly fit and give it another go next year. Signposting means you could almost get away without a map.

I had great weather but that concentrated the flies, tore my shorts 5 miles into the journey, went wrong at Tod (did extra 5 miles!)

All the gates! Loved it though. Doing it again this weekend to make up for the f/up. Took 9 1/2 hours by the way, including a Steak stop at the Shepherds Rest.
