Stirling home to 1 of Scotland's many castles is also well situated for cycling. In the heart of the Trossachs there is many opportunities for cycling. North Third forest is a short cycle from the centre and has many exciting routes for mountain bikers.
Stirling renowned as the Gateway to the Highlands, offers an ideal centre being equidistant from Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow.
To the east of Stirling is the Ochil Hills. The highest peaks Dumyat and Ben Cleuch, clearly dominating the skyline. Abbey Craig which can also be cycled, albeit short, proudly hosts the 220ft high National Wallace Monument.
