Cycle Steps
North East Bolton through several Parks virtually avoiding any roads at all. Mostly flatish and runs alongside two canals, some filled in, some disused, otherwise overgrown.
Takes you past a strange Equestrian crossing.
It may be bettter to take road (Bklair Lanr, New Lane Longsight lane) before last golf course as it is very hard going through a wood and really requires dismounting and pushing up a very steep hill over tree roots.
You can add a few extra miles by going north and taking in a couple of reservoirs

Halfway point has two really nice pubs, the Horseshoe and the Nelson linked by a bridge and some stocks
