This is a great ride along very quiet roads through some lovely scenery and very quaint villages. Its constantly undulating so a real energy sapper. There's a few testing hills (the one just after Shere was particularly painful) but its the overall absence of anything flat for over 40 miles thats particul;arly challenging. I did it on a windy, rainy day and averaged a sorry 13mph, against my usual average in this area of about 16mph. Make sure you take planty of bars and gels!
