Cycle Steps
Starting at the Dog & Partridge pub in Union Street, Whitworth, this is quite a tough route, depending which way round you go. About 2 miles on-road riding, mixed up with some grassy trails and hardpack. A good scenic run out, with some tough climbs up Brown Wardle and Middle Hill with a couple of lengthy descents into Walsden and Watergrove Reservoir. Easiest route is up Whitworth Rake and follow path to drop into Walsden. All route is road marked or bridleway signposted.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
Good views of Blackstone Edge and Whitworth. Closest bike shop is Chris Paulsons in Rochdale on Halifax Rd.
