| This is a mixed route, that is mostly on quiet country lanes, but has an off road cycle path section and Military Road, which gets fairly fast traffic. You start with a steep downhill run on roads into Ventnor. You then go along the delightful and quiet Undercliff Road, passing by the Ventnor Botanic Gardens, and entering into Niton. You then go onto the A3055 and follow the Round the Island road route to Freshwater Bay. Here you take the off-road cycle path to Yarmouth. There are two big hills on the route, one approaching Blackgang and the other going to Freshwater Bay. This, however, means that there are also some incredible downhill sections with breathtaking scenery. |
