| A good route to blow the cobwebs away. Leaveing Urmston Stretford road and meadow side road Shell garage, for a 24 miler on mainly A roads, some elevation along the way to get them thighs burning. A nice stop at Lymm village would be a welcome rest for those non regular riders. From Popular 2000 services onto the A50, a very busy main A road too High Legh for a quieter ride surrounded by countryside views, a pleasant ride on a country lane beside the Bridgewater Canal on Warrington Lane heading back to Urmston on the return leg. Not suitable for beginners due to distance and quite busy main roads, but on a roadbike for the regular rider a good way to stretch the legs after a break as theres no difficult climbs, plenty of stops, and chances too ride at pace along the A roads. 2-3 hours at a relaxing pace. A mere warmup ride for seasoned riders. Or a winter training loop. | |
