Last weekend The Trax club (http://www.thetrax.co.uk) rode the trails at Trent Park. We rode out after our club meeting in the club hut in Lordship Rec in Tottenham. As a young club we are still discovering the best selection of routes in and around North London. The Trax ride every Saturday with a mixture of local and away day rides. Given the mix we Londoners are in our riding tastes we tend to like to mix it up quite a bit.

An example of this is the mix of bikes from traditional hardtails, full sus rigs, hybrids, jump bikes and single speeder.

Bob from the LCC (London Cycling Campaign) led us out on the scenic 4 mile road route to get us there. Jamie on his single speed to his credit navigated some pretty steep hills.

We entered at the south side just by cockfosters station. As you go in you pretty soon come to the cafe and some maps for guidance. We rode off and found some fun woody sections. None of us having ever been to the park made it a real voyage of discovery (AKA we got quite lost).

The park has good balance of ups and speedy downs. Some fun singletrack with natural logs to jump. Very woody and not too rooty. There is a fun descending shoot with a neat rut (quite wide) that spins you down and around the perimeter.

Recommend you head to the northern section of the park and the woods there. That is the best bit. The area defined as a cycle trail is quite tame and nowhere near as much fun. The northern woods have some fun runs down with some fun bits to session from jumps and berms if you keep your dirt radar peeled.

Rider of the day has to be beardie Bob on his hybrid who tore down everything and sped past us all on the ups.

The cafe is half decent too.

Ride was made up of Bob, Mario, Shaz, lucy, Jamie and me.

Now we have it a bit more mapped out we will be back there soon. Come join us. You can check out our ride calendar here.
