A generally flat route, on mostly very quiet roads, taking in lots of countryside and villages in York's hinterland. The southern part gives a flavour of very flat, fen like countryside towards Selby, crosses the River Ouse at Cawood then skirts East of York through historic Stamford Bridge. To the North of York the route allows views up to the Howardian Hills, without climbing them. A short detour to Crayke before Easingwold is worthwhile if you like quaint villages. Easingwold is a lovely small town to stop in the square for a bite to eat. Short cut across Aldwark Bridge is nice if Boroughbridge rout too far. |

Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see? | |
No bike shops. T Hee café in Easingwold recommended - nice although not cheap - but worth it in my opinion. |
