Cycle Steps
Circular route around Swansea West and Gower.
Passes the beaches of Caswell, Langland, ends up at a surfers paradise of Llangenith at Hillend Caravan Park.

A quite hilly return through Three crosses, alternative would be to stay on the flat penclawdd to gowerton road or adjacent route 4 path.

40 miles in duration all on public roads although most of the Gower roads are quiet.

Many variations can be made to this route. You can easily add Knelston, Rhossili and/or Port Eynon, Oxwich all worth seeing, esp Rhossili.

From Cilibion, you can head towards Reynoldston. This is quite a long steady climb but the top gives you probably the best views of the Gower in all directions.

Also, depending on where you start, the climb up from Caswell beach can be a bit beastly after a long ride.

Overall, cycling round the Gower is great and the roads are reasonably quiet.

The roads on Gower are often very narrow, windy and very hilly in parts. They are definitely not quiet, 6000 vehicle movements through a small village on a daily basis is not quiet.

Great ride around the Gower, takes in lots of places and views. I wasn't sure which way to ride it so started in Mumbles and went into Swansea and up to Three Crosses. A bit convoluted getting out of Swansea! There are hills and I would say that it's best suited to regular cyclists - good road route. Quiet roads on the whole ( Saturday am in September)
Really enjoyed it.
