Cycle Steps
Follow the main route across the roundabout, past the Police Station and B&Q from Stevo into Knebworth, then along the rolling road, follow this until you hit the roundabout under the A1, take 1st left and towards the Roman Baths roundabout, here take the 2nd exit towards Welwyn, then up and over the A1, and follow this until you hit the A1 again and Stanborough lakes. Up next to the A1 and the main roundabout with the large Tesco. Keep this to your right and follow the A414 for a short bit, should be signed the A1000. Do a right at this junction towards Hatfield, passing Hatfield House on your left. Next junction turn left, then you pass Hatfield station on the right, and Hatfield House entrance on your left as well.
Next mini roundabout, go straight over, should still be on the A1000, you'll pass a few pubs along here, and garden centre on your left. Stay on this road for a bit, its nice and smooth, not too testy. It eventually comes into the back end of Potters Bar. At this junction, you should bear right onto the High Street, the Green Man pub is on your right.
At the end of the road, you pass the Cask and Stillage pub on your left (nice boozer this one!), bear left and towards the M25. Should be Southgate Road.
Go straight over the M25 and take the 3rd exit, Stagg Hill towards Cockfosters. Follow this road past Trent Park, on your left until you come to a large roundabout. Straight over this one, Chicken Shed theatre is on the left, then you pass Saracens training ground on the left also. Do a right when you reach the traffic lights, down Osidge Lane to Hampden Circus, the Osidge Arms is on this crossroads/roundabout (another nice pub!).
Left into Hampden Way all the way along under the railway line and mini roundabout, take the last exit into Waterfall Road, up the hill and over the double roundabouts, should be the A1003, At the next set of lights, do a left into Station Road and pass New Southgate station on the right.
Stay on this over the lights and over the North Circular, onto Bounds Green Road. Pass the underground station over the crossroads, then when you approach Park Avenue (on the right) either turn down there or cut through the park. They both lead to the same place.
Come out at Station Road, where you can see Alexandra Palace station, and the Gate pub, which is a perfect place to have an ale and a pizza.
Well done - just short of 30 miles!
