This is a route that is all on A roads and is suitable for a road bike. It starts fairly flat in Stafford and heads out on the A518 to Weston Bank and Weston where there it is down hill. At Weston you turn left onto the A51 and head for Sandon. Follow the A51 up to the junction with the A34 and turn right towards Stone. There is a slight incline around this area. Follow the A34 up to Trentham, which is the turning point at the Trentham Garden Centre. Return back down the A34, however, when you pass Stone, stay on the A34 towards Aston-by-Stone. Continue on through Yarlet where you will find another slight incline. Turn off the A34 at Beaconside A513 and get a final flat run back into Stafford and the start point. |
