The road from Shawlands to Newton Mearns, via Ayr Road, offers a good warm up on the route, with a long gradual climb.
The stretch from Newton Mearns to Neilston is via quiet picturesque back roads that offer a fast flowing run.
You remain on back roads to complete the loop from Neilston back to Mearns.
The final stretch from Mearns to Shawlands, via Thornlie Bank, offers a long downhill road run.
