Cycle Steps
This is a route for beginners, like me who are wobbly and not confident on roads.

Start at the parking area at the beginning of potten street, just off the roundabout at the junction of the a28 and a299.

Cycle along the Potten street road, taking the first right into Shuart lane, ride up Shuart lane and back again to the Potten street road.

Carry on a bit further and then take the next right up the no through road, come back again onto Potten street road.

You then come to the end of the road and a collection of farm houses. take the path round to the left, following the Wantsum channel on your right.

Come to where the path meets the dual carriageway and turn back along the path, keeping the Wantsum on your left.

At this point, turn left onto a wide concrete farm path, which leads up a bridleway track, follow the path when it turns to track round to your right and keep going.

You soon come to a level crossing, cross carefully and continue on until you reach the bird lagoons at cold harbour which is on the sea wall on the route from minnis bay to reculver.

We turned back here, to follow the track, then the path then potten street road back to the parking area, but you could extend on to reculver or minnis bay before turning back.
