Cycle Steps
This is an easy and relatively flat, road route, mainly on A and country roads, that is ideal for either a leisurely ride or a good time-trial circuit. The traffic varies considerably with time of day and day of the week.
Start by heading towards Kidlington on Banbury Road, A4165, going across the A34. At the roundabout go straight across, leaving the A4165 and going onto Oxford Road, A4260. Follow this into Kidlington.
In Kidlington, turn left into Yarnton Road, heading for Yarnton. After passing the Cricket Ground, on your left, turn right into Sandy Lane, still heading for Yarnton. Follow this road to the A44 roundabout in Yarnton.
At the A44 roundabout turn left onto Woodstock Road, A44, and follow this to the next roundabout. Turn right, off the A44 and onto Cassington Road, and follow this to Cassington.
Go through Cassington to the A40 T junction, turn left onto the A40 and follow this as it becomes the Northern Bypass, passes under the A34 and goes to the A44 roundabout.
At the A44 roundabout, go straight across, staying on the A40, North Way. Follow this to the next roundabout and turn onto Banbury Road, A4165, taking you back to the start point.
