Varied route passing through a number of towns as well as high downland with great views. A long day one-way, or for a shorter trip the Wantage-Devizes section is particularly good. Some big roads especially between Devizes and Melksham but in the main quiet stuff. Big hill just outside Wantage and another out of Bradford-on Avon. You may want to pick up the canal path for the last stretch into Bath - very pretty and not too bumpy. |

Great route, thanks. However, it's 80 miles not 70 if you follow the roads exactly - this one is mapped pretty roughly on here. Be wary if cycling east to west, you're likely to be against the wind, doh! And it ends with a very stiff climb into Bath to polish you off. | ||
