Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see? | |
Look out for the Davie Bell Memorial at Rowantree Toll at the most southerly point of the route (just off road) which remembers Ayrshires most famous cycle tourist. Davie, who wrote in the Ayrshire Post and published a book of his cycling exploits was known as 'The Highway Man' and has a Classic race around these roads run annually in his memory. Also 'The Buck' Tea Room in Straiton where a quaint, cosy cup of tea and cake is guaranteed to fuel you to the end. |
