I've just recently started up cycling again, and have been doing an almost identical route. Basically, at the Southernmost tip of the route, I carry on down Moor Top Road to the Travellers Rest pub on the corner with High Street. Then High Street > Summerley Road > Ash Lane and continue on your route.

I like the mix of up and down hill and fairly flat bits you can just plough on :)
