Cycle Steps
This is a road route on a mix of A, B and country roads, with at least two climbs.
From Tesco Loughborough, head via Park Road, Belvoir Drive and Valley Road out of Loughborough and turn left onto Nanpantan Road. In Nanpantan, at the top of the hill, at the traffic lights, by the small pub on the right, turn onto Snell's Nook Lane. At the end of the downhill section, turn left onto the New Ashby Road, A512. This can be busyish until you cross the roundabout at the M1. Follow the A512 through Coleorton, then look out for the right turn onto Rempstone Road, B5324. Stay on this B road, with its flats and downhills, but with one steep climb, until you reach the A6 junction. At the A6, turn left and head North up to Kegworth. Head through Kegworth along the main high street and then look out on the right for the accute angled turn off, onto Side Ley, heading back South. This leads onto Station Road, which you follow across the river and the railway bridge. At the cross roads, just after the railway bridge, turn right onto College Road. Stay on College Road, past the University of Nottingham, and on Marie Pit Hill and Main Street past Sutton Bonington Campus and along Park Lane to the A6006 junction. Cross the A6006 at Normanton on Soar, Stay on this road, going up one very steep climb and follow the road to Stanford on Soar. Take Meadow Lane and go over the bridge near the industrial estate (passing on the left) and turn right onto Belton Road, A6004. Head across the A6 crossroads and onto Alan Moss Road, A6004, and turn left at the roundabout. Head along Epinal Way, A6004, until you get back to the start point.
