Cycle Steps
from the roundabout head North towards the Tesco superstore, at the double roundabout turn left head up the hill past Launceston college, the retail park then the Hospital on Link Rd. At the Round about take the third exit towards the town centre. Turn left at the traffic lights heading towards the police station. Turn right on Upper chapel, try not to pick up too much speed as you have a left turn at the first x-roads and the first cheeky hill climb. Turn left at the top and head towards Tregadillett. At the Roundabout take the third exit towards Wadebridge past the golf course on the A395 .This is a main rd but does not have a lot of traffic on it. The next 4-5 miles is a mixture of steady climbs and long descents until you reach the Wilsley Down free house. Lots of seating, great food and a great refreshment stop. There is also a small garage with a small shop about halfway along the A395. Head back along the A395 past the forest on your left and then take the next left towards Egloskerry. Make the most of this very long downhill stretch of this route as once you get past Egloskerry you have a very long steady climb towards Launceston. Do not give up on this hill as the reward is a free wheel all the way down to the bottom of St Stephens hill. **cyclists can use St Stephens Hill but beware of on coming vehicles** you now have a 200m steep climb up towards the castle, turning left onto Dockacre Rd. A very small assent now as you contour Launceston town centre. At the T junction turn right up the hill on the Tavistock Rd A388. This will take you all the way back to the double roundabout by Tescos. A nice downhill stretch to finish your route off

25-03-17. Rode most of this route this morning in reverse, Lson-Egloskerry-Tresmeer-Hallworthy-PPool-Lson, great route with some excellent views but my distance (and checked with Via Michelin) was approx. 22 miles. Did it in just over 2hrs and def didn''t average 15mph!Also with some extensions/diversions I think this could be the basis for some nice longer rides.

The A395 is not only a busy road but a fast one with plenty of dips, crests and corners that could make a bicycle hard to see from a car until the last minute. It''s actually sign posted from the A30 as the main route to Wadebridge, Padstow etc. I''ve always thought that was silly considering the A30 is there but nonetheless that''s how it is meaning cycling on this road is pretty dangerous.
