Cycle Steps
This is a road route, on a mix of A, B and country roads, that takes in parts of Suffolk and Norfolk.
The route starts from Lakenheath High Street, where car parking is available just off the main road. Head north, following the B1112 to Hockwold cum Wilton. Turn east (right) off the B1112, onto Main Street. Follow this country road through Weeting and down towards Brandon, Turn right onto the A1065 and head over the railway lines into Brandon. At the A1065/B1107 junction turn left onto the B1107 and follow this to the edge of Brandon.
You now turn left, off the B1107 and onto the old Thetford Road. Follow this de-tour through the woods, Santon Downham and the woods again, until you reach another B1107 junction. Turn left back onto the B1107 and follow this towards Thetford and the A11 roundabout. Go straight across the roundabout onto the A134 and follow this to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Take the next left onto Canterbury Way and follow this round the outskirts of Thetford towards Thetford Railway Station. Before you reach the railway station turn off left across the railway and on to the A1006 T junction. Turn right onto the A1006 and follow this to the large roundabout. Turn left onto the A1075 and follow this to the outskirts of Thetford.
Turn right off the A1075, onto a country roads, heading for Kilverstone Hall. continue on and pass through the beautiful villages of Bridgham and Roundham, where the majority of the cycling is flat and easy going. Turn right in Roundham towards Roundham Hall and on till the B1111 T junction. Head north (left) and follow the B1111 over the A11. Take the next turn on the left turning off the B1111 onto country roads. You are now heading west towards Thetford Forest. Cross the A1075 with a right and left manouver and continue on coutry roads through Wretham. At Thetford Forest, turn right and follow the road to the A134 T junction. Turn right onto the A134 and continue through the forest to Lynford. At Lynford turn right, off the A134, back onto country roads and follow this to West Tofts. Turn left onto West Tofts Road and follow this to the A1065 roundabout at Mundford. Go across the roundabout onto the A134. Follow the A134 till the left turn off for Methwold, and follow the country road through Methwold and on to Methwold Hythe.
In Methwold Hythe, head south (turn left) onto Feltwell Road. Follow this to Feltwell, passing the RAF base. In Fetwell, turn right onto the B1112 and follow this to Hockwold cum Wilton. From here re-trace your initial steps back on the B1112 to Lakenheath.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
There are several shop in Thetford and around Brandon. However the village store in Methwold provides a wonderful lunch stop location.

There are also a number of village pubs along the route or small stores which provide suitable refreshments.
