Be warned, on this day you will be experiencing some famous and spectacular views, its difficult to pick out the highlights as will all be so memorable. From the shores of Loch Ness to the locks of Caledonian Canal this day has it all. We begin the day cycling along the much quieter side of the famous Loch Ness, although it is wooded in parts, there are some great views over the famous loch. The legend of Nessie is known world wide about the monster who lives in the largest body of fresh water in Britain, infact there is more water in Loch Ness than all the other lakes in England, Scotland and Wales put together. The rest of the day takes you along the Great Glen Way which runs along side the Caledonian Canal. The spectacular scenery is unusual for a canal, cycling under the shadow of Ben Nevis, the highest hill in Scotland. |
