Great circular route taking in the coast from St Marys Lighthouse to North Shields fish quay. When you reach Earsdon you may wish to go straight on to Holywell, then follow The Dean toward Old Hartley. If you chose to go via The Dean you will nead a mountain bike, otherwise the whole route could be done on a road bike. From Old Hartley you follow the coast all the way to Tynemouth Priory, then take the path along the Tyne to North Shields fish quey. Follow the National cycle route around to the Royal quays shopping outlet and from there travel north up the Waggonway to West Allotment and back to Holystone. There is parking next to the Stonebrooke pub. |
