My first ever road cycle on Carrera Vengence - climbing for miles, leaving Howood was very tough and hill after hill until flat on Glennifer Rd heading for Robertson car park that was first time I had break from hills - I went from Johnstone to Johnstone loop and was 14.5 miles. The weather was windy and heavy rain and I look forward to doing again in better weather

Glad you liked it. I keep forgetting I have an Allez Triple, so lowest gear is 30 by 22, probably makes it a bit easier. If you like hills, go to Howood and then take the back road towards Lochwinnoch, but instead of going into Lochwinnoch turn right up the hill towards Kilmacolm, lovely big hill to climb. Even better going down it.

I did the route you suggested Blake although I took the B788 to Houton Road Knapps. My trip was around 19 Miles and for my second ever cycle ride it was a huge challenge. I found it gruelling but remained in seat to the end. I don't know much about cycling but the vengence performed well and I still need to work out the gears but I'm getting there and I enjoyed as well as endured the route - what a buzz at the end.
