| This route is part of the Trans Pennine Trail. It follows for most part the old railway lines from Gamesley sidings to the Woodhead line that goes to Pennistone. I've adpapted it into a circuit so that you can take in the Reservoirs and vary the suface that you ride on road / track / road / track There is also a perfect stop point at Torside Tourist Centre where on Summer days you get an ice cream! The Route back is practically all downhill; so you releax after long gentle climb to Woodhead. The Route can easily be adapted to weather conditions and for those outside of the area who come by train to Hadfield it is easy to follow. |
