Dropping down onto Durham Riverbanks, along Frankland Lane to the Prison, past Finchale Abbey (you'll need to carry your bicycle up the steps after the riverbridge), through Rainton Meadows nature reserve, and back to Carrville along the railway path and Renny's Lane. Well surfaced off-road and quiet roads.
