| This is quite a hilly route with very few extended flats. I do this route in about 1h40 mins but if your out to enjoy the seaside and country scenery then anything up to 2 hours+. It's a bit of a slog getting up the last hills, however Bear Road is a steep decent and is definitely worth getting to the top of the hills for this alone. |

| Beautiful connection between Newhaven and Lewes. I would recommend reversing the route as prevailing wind is against you all the time and not enjoyable going against traffic on the A27. | ||

| Beautiful scenery, but be warned very heavy traffic between Newhaven and Lewes. The final climb to Woodingdean is very tough, and again on a very busy main road. The decent into Brighton is lovely after a difficult ride. | ||

| Quite a poor route. Many potholes, big roads and poorly maintained tarmac. Nice scenery but difficult to enjoy | ||
