Flat route along the coast from Brighton to Goring-by-Sea, then heading towards Bognor Regis, up to Chichester then across and down to Portsmouth (Fratton). Note: there's a cycle lane for the majority of the A259 stint although some of it is hideous, and the section between Havant - Portsmouth appears to run on the A27 but there is a seperate cycle/ pedestrian lane separate to the road. Not a particularly scenic route but good for increasing overall pace over a mid-distance. (I've not long been cycling seriously and averaged 14.2 mph). |
