| This is a good, flat, road route, on country lanes, but with an option to mix in some canal towpaths, that offers excellent views of the Vale of Belvoir. Although the map shows the road route, there are options to take the Nottingham/Grantham canal to Hose. These can be taken from between Redmile and Barkestone, and again between Plungar and Harby (at Dove Cottage). The canal has a mixed surface of grass, between Redmile and Harby, then crushed granite, from Harby to Hose. There is also a greater risk of getting a puncture from hedge trimmings. |
