| Leave Bolton town centre via Tonge Moor Road, spinning to warm up. A gentle longish climb through Bradshaw brings you to Hawkshaw where you can push your biggest gear and blaze into Ramsbottom. Plenty of oppotunity for car pacing (even out-pacing) as you hurtle down the slight decline. Save a bit for the climb after Stubbins which tops out at a roundabout. Be careful of motorway-speed cars as you take the second exit and cruise another longer, easier hill toward Edenfield. Once you've regained a good rpm you can beast all the way into Rawtenstall. |
