Ferry from Gourock to Hunters Quay at start and end of route. Leave Dunoon on Glasgow road, take turning for colintirve (2 hard climbs).Continue to Tighnabruich and Kames and follow road to Otter Ferry. From here the road follows loch Fyne to Strachur. Take the A815 back down to Dunoon past Lock Eck. Great views of wild scenery throughout.

Man.This takes me back.I'm fae Dunoon originally and am thinking of heading up for a weekends riding soon.Used to do this route in the 80's on my old Schwinn Lightweight(Japanese built!).I was pretty much the ONLY person I ever saw on the roads back then(I was a teenager!) Lovely, lovely route.Like you say-some stunning scenery. Try heading out the back of Ardentinny-there's a winding road that's gotta be a 1:5 in places that'll take you back to Loch Eck.Gorgeous road.
