Cycle Steps
Starting at the port, get on the ferry for Brodick, Isle of Arran. You can get across and back for about £12 and that's including the surcharge for a bike.
Cycle out of the ferry carpark and turn left onto the A841.
A large part of this route involves you staying on this road. However depending on how much time or how challenging you wish to make the ride, you can either circle the whole island be warned tho, it is a good 56 miles but has some cracking scenery being mostly on the coast, or once half way round cut across the island back to the port.
Assuming you wish to cycle the slightly easier route, cycle for 20 miles passing Lamlash Bay, Knocken Kelly, Largybeg, Dippen, Corriecravie until you arrive in Kilpatrick at the other side of the island from where you started.
Shortly after Kilpatrick there is a side road right (The String) signposted Ballymichael/Brodick. Take this road right and follow it back to Brodick.
If you are wishing to go all the way round the Isle of Arran do not take the side road right but carry straight on and stay on the road all the way back to Brodick.
When you arrive in Brodick the road forks, take the right hand branch to head back to the port.
Another alternative, which is also quite fun, but slightly more hilly, would be to take a right onto The Ross. This takes you out back on route for the shorter loop.
