Cambridge to Dover avoiding London

Joined: 26 Jan 2009 Posts: 2 Bike: | Please can anyone help me!! I am planning a charity solo bike ride from Cambridge to Paris and back. My main problem is from Cambridge to Dover as i desperately want to avoid London if at all possible. Does anyone have a route or possible suggestions about a route. Many thanks, Colin |

Joined: 26 Jan 2009 Posts: 1 Bike: | Cambridge - Chipping Ongar - Tilbury (ferry) Gravesend-Dover? There is a ferry that runs from Tilbury to Gravesend. Tilbury is on the North side of the Thames estuary, Gravesend on the South. I would have thought there is a cycle navigable route from Chipping Ongar to Tilbury. timetable: http://kent.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/084D1EC5-3203-4238-A210-629D13778366/10039/ProofCopy.pdf Failing that Chipping Ongar to the Woolwich ferry across the Thames would skirt through the 'burbs and put you right on the Dover Road (Shooters Hill). I also was unsure if i could go over the bridge near the dartford tunnel or not. Again many many thanks for the route, you have saved me from a big headache. Colin |

If you take uo the 2 weeks free trial offer you should be able to access the routes we are using along with the hotels.
