Situated Southwest of Glasgow, this area is heavily populated. Even though only 18 towns and villages make up the area, it is mostly because it overlaps with Glasgow. Bridge of Weir offers very nice hillwalking on Ben Lomand. Brookfield is the smallest village.Erskine has a suspension bridge and evidence that humans have been around since 1000BC. Weaving was a popular industry and some towns were built for the overflow of people. A few landmarks, Paisley Abbey, a burial place many Scottish kings and in Ranfruly here is a castle that dates back to the 15th century.
