The East Ridings include the northern part of what was Humberside. With an estimated population of around 590 000 the East Riding contains mainly rural areas and some relatively small market towns such as Driffield, Goole and Pocklington. With a vast coastline and wide open countryside there are plenty of quiet roads and trails to find. You could also make a visit to Fort Paull which is a Napoleonic Fortress museum with 10 acres of land and has underground tunnels and rooms.
