This is a road route on mainly A class roads. It starts off with a steady warm up along Bolton and Bury Road then left uphill through Brandlesholme and a dogleg right through Holcombe and at last, a downhill bit into Ramsbottom. Short lived relief as you climb a steeper bank through Stubbins to the motorway roundabout. Off again through Edenfield and onto undulating going with an overall downhill gradient to Rawtenstall where it flattens out after Boothfold for a picturesque ride to Stackstands. The reverse route has a couple of long gradients and steepish banks but fantastic views and great downhill stretches.
I didn't set any records on this run but hey, I like biking at an easy pace - no doubt some young blood will chop an hour off my time haha! |

| Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see? |
The route is strewn with landmarks and places of interest. Didn't see any bike shops but plenty of convenience stores and petrol stations.
