Route advice - Crystal Palace to City

Joined: 16 Feb 2015 Posts: 1 Bike: | Hi All, First timer here and first posting :) Looking to get on the road as a first timer (I have done mountain biking before, now willing to brave my way into work on my hybrid). Can someone suggest a good route from the Crystal Palace area to around Southwark/London Bridge? I have used google maps and some of the other sites available (like this one here) and have some idea. I am looking to avoid main roads as much as possible even if it adds a few miles to the journey. So here are my specific questions. - Does anyone have any recommendations on the route? - Is it wise to consider walking routes for cycling. Is this even permissible? - As I have never cycled into work before (or on roads for that matter). Any advice? I will be packing essential bike maintenance gear - To travel in given the London weather I am wondering how best to follow the route ensure I don't get lost :D Apologies if these have been answered before or come across as silly. Just trying to make sure I don't get plastered all over the road day 1 :) |
