Settlers arrived around 1500 B.C. and began building many of the structures that are still standing today with a heavy norse influence. During the winter on a clear night the Northern Lights are visiable. During the summer the days are almost always filled with sunshine. The temperature is pretty mild, with only 200 days of rain.
