Rhondda Cynon Taff Cycle Routes

London Cycle RoutesWales Cycle Routes > Rhondda Cynon Taff
People began settling here about 10,000 years ago. They used sheep, cattle and the wild life to survive. Along came the Iron Industry in the 16th century and by the 1800’s, with the transport of coal being so popular, and so many houses being built, most of the wild life was destroyed. However as times went on and the coal industry started to come to an end the environment was able to flourish again. Now there are many different outdoor activities to explore such as horseback riding, cycling and walking. The highlight of this region is the Taff Trail which is 55 miles long throughout southern Wales.
