This is a mixed route of Canal towpaths and A and B roads, with two major hills. It is suitable for mountain bikes and all levels of cyclist.
Head south onto the A33 and across the roundabout onto the Reading Relief Road. Drop down onto the towpath and follow this till it joins into Mill Road. Follow this till the right turn onto another towpath. This will take you alongside the M4 and follow the canal to Station Road. Follow this into Theale. Take the High Street, past the M4 and Sulham Valley to Little Heath and Purley on Thames. Then take the A329 to Pangbourne. Then take the B471 to the B4526 and through Goring Heath to the A4074. Head back through Chazey Heath back to Reading. |
