| Pleasant route through North Essex/Suffolk lanes. Watch out for traffic on Straight Road, Boxted, and brief stretch of A134, otherwise mostly quiet. Nayland and Polstead quiet and pretty, market town of Hadleigh is loud and busy by comparison. There is a track through at Lower Layham even though it says 'No Through Road'. |

In Hadleigh, look for Tudor Guildhall and church. Lots of pubs to eat in on route - recommend the Marquis (just off route) at Upper Layham, east of Hadleigh. If you are riding in Feb/March/April, look for hares near Withermarsh Green - loads of them at right time of day.
