Located off the west coast is Isle of Arran. It's easily accessiable by two ferry boats. It's an outdoorsy persons dream. There are over 100 different species of birds, Roe Deer and Basking Sharks for the wild life enthusiasts to a castle from 1777 or the Stone Circles from the Bronze Age (3300 B.C - 1200 B.C) for the history buffs all squeezed into an island that is 19 miles long and 10 miles wide. Its a perfect place for cyclists since the north has a lovely coast and mountain terrain while the south has more woods and hilly terrain. As an added bonus, the weather is usually quite pleasant.
