I need a reliable app for cycling that can measure inclines and the like to help me train accurately for a charity bike ride my partner and i will be doing next year across Europe. If you want to come with us please let me know! I am very new to cycling and this is a crazy idea but it is for a really good cause and i need as much help and support as possible including training tips please! Anything advice would be gratefully received! Thanks!!! |

I find Ride with GPS easy to plan a route and shows the elevation total for the route and how high each hill will be along the way . Apps are battery draining though not sure how long phone will last When using all day - I use a separate dedicated cycling GPS unit Garmin 800 - other models are available ride with gps ==== http://ridewithgps.com/ strava === http://www.strava.com/ http://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/ is also good site to try !! There are other sites and I'm sure people on here will offer alternatives If you plan that Europe trip please share -I'm always curious what trips other people are doing. |

I will be doing the trip and will keep you informed. Need to sort out when we are doing it first. Looks like it will be a struggle at the minute- my ride today was a chore! Thanks again :) |
