Although the programme was related to walking, it featured what looked to be a cycle path from the North-South Cornwall. I have been looking for the route on this web site to see how long it was etc. but cannot locate it. Perhaps somebody who knows the region could add it as I am sure it would be an interesting ride. This is the trail that has been much talked about recently, and was featured in the Julia Bradbury program. The Coast-to-Coast trail is an 11 mile flat, off-road disused mining trail (train track) linking the North Coast (Atlantic) to the South Coast (Channel). There are some epic technical loops and extensions to be found off this trail, which also now links up with many other mining trails. The trail centre with free parking and trail information is The Bike Barn, at Elm Farm, Cambrose, Portreath, Cornwall TR16 5UF. Their website is www.cornwallcycletrails.com - They also have a cycle centre, farm shop, beer garden, B&B and campsite for £3 per night! Hope that helps. |

Coast to Coast Cycle Hire from Elm Farm Bike Barn is now under new management and their website is now http://www.elmfarm.biz. It is still a great place to start exploring the network of Mineral Tramways and offers free parking if you have your own bike. Regards, Ruby |
