| Circular route of approximately 20 miles and one that I enjoy with my teenage son. Parking may be available on Gilmerton Dykes Road, then ride down Lasswade Road to join cycle path, alternatively Lidl car park following Gilmerton Road over Drum Street and down to Gilmerton Station Road. Mostly cycle paths on former railway lines, Gilmerton Station Road to Roslin fully tarmac, Penicuik-Dalkeith railway path whin surface. Steep downhill at Auchendinny! Expect traffic in Dalkeith section. 5 mile gradual uphill section from Dalkeith to Gilmerton. | |
