| i completed this route on Sunday 10th July 2011 with my wife. We took the train to Southport and planned to ride home. I looked on this site beforehand and was slightly worried about the signage problems from Southport to Liverpool, particualy around the Formby area, as this is were the trail goes off road, but should not have worried at all. The ride was easy enough for us and well signed, the ride down the Formby by-pass seemed to go on forever, the only time during the whole ride was back in Liverpool. When you get off the trail at Aintree, the signage tells you to go down the hill and carry on. You will come to a bridge right by Melling Road, you will be encouraged to go down this road, don`t, by the bridge you will see some steps going up to the trail, use these instead. Apart from this we enjoyed the ride and i am planning to do this again soon. i am planning to do part 2 of this route this weekend if i can get a train back???? | ||
